Firm Resume

Newell Associates, LLC traces its origin back to July 1992 when founder, Herbert Newell, resigned as a shareholder of a prominent Tuscaloosa business boutique law firm.  At that time he joined with a law school classmate to form a law firm in Tuscaloosa that eventually grew to five lawyers.  In 1997 that law firm split and Mr. Newell began what is now known as Newell Associates.

The firm's offices are located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, adjacent to the scenic River Walk district along the Black Warrior River currently under development by the City of Tuscaloosa.  The firm handles matters in all 67 counties of Alabama, and has clients from all over the nation.

The firm is an underwriting agent for Stewart Title Guaranty Company.  The firm is also approved as closing attorney for Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, Chicago Title, Lawyers Title Insurance Company, and Mississippi Valley Title Insurance Company.  In addition the firm is a local claims defense counsel for Stewart Title Guaranty.

Newell Associates is a member of and general counsel to the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.
